From the Haynes Peugeot 308 manual Number 5561**
** which is my first encounter with the newer paperback type Haynes = don't like it at all! Not sure quite how much saving was realised by omitting two bits of thick card!

Ha ha, my C5 is similar poor grubby thing. I'm trying not to even think about washing it as seems to summon rain clouds even just the thought!
I've got front wishbone bushes to do on the 308 SW (pictures of bushes here: viewtopic.php?p=796137#p796137 ) have just done the track rod ends - a few pictures on my waffling blog: viewtopic.php?p=796135#p796135

Ha ha, know what you mean - the "less faff" options increasingly appeal!!Huskyxantia wrote: 13 Apr 2024, 18:46 Im just waiting now i think for the lower ball joints, i got new wish bones as you get a bit older its easier to get them complete , i used to press things years ago when i was much fitter & more full of energy lol
I'm hoping I can do the bushes without too much of a fight, but have in the back of mind when to give up and get the full wishbone instead, not keeping battling on with the red mist in full effect!

Interested to hear your experiences on the ball joints - I'm not raving about changing these "upside down type" with ball joints in the hub (406, 308, C5) rather than in the end of the wishbone type (206, 306)
Special tool and flipping tight / seized in place likely is what I've read, so not looking forward to needing to do one of the upside down ones!

Those screwed in joints can be a mare - needs a 41mm very deep socket, and sometimes the thread is no good and they can be very tight. I find it easier to remove the hub and get it in the vice.
