Re: Picture(s) of the day..Clock Special
From the archives. Cranfield as well as being the start point of the Nissan Leaf’s record breaking autonomous drive to Sunderland is also the location of one of the handful of red church clocks in the United Kingdom
CitroJim wrote: 16 Jul 2017, 16:57 Went on a short and very gentle (slow) bike ride today, armed with a picnic and a camera...
My photography theme was churches with clocks mainly...
Pick of the ones are this blue face in North Crawley
Cranfield again but from a different angle:
Whaddon Church - A village with a lot of WWII code-breaking history:
And my own home town church... Very hard to get a good shot of it as the trees obscure most angles...
I took many more churches, many with clocks, and they can be viewed in one of my Flickr Albums
Finally, many villages in Bedfordshire have these signs, erected in 1951 to celebrate and pay tribute to the Festival of Britain...
A nice touch I think and rather special...

Not that I have been there, but just did a bit of google tourism and it is the Monjuic Telecommunications tower at the Olympic Park.

Back in the time of crappy window winders you could buy rubber wedges to do that.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
One of the interesting things about the Drift Cafe at Cresswell is the interesting collection of nostalgic bric-a-brac on the shelves for sale. Got a set of Lexicon Cards the other day in a little "book" packet, exactly like an old set we played with in the 60's.
But todays Drift Cafe surprise was this, could have been lost in "Remember these all our Yesterdays" thread, but Ive elevated it to POTD...
When did you last see one of these, I know that CitroJim has commented in the past on them
Regards Neil
