Re: "Word/Phrase of the Day"
Caffeine has never had any effect on me whatsoever, it doesn't wake me up, it didn't sober me up in the days it may have been necessary and it doesn't stop me sleeping. Absolutely immune to it so I never ever worry about with or without!!

Re: "Word/Phrase of the Day"
That tweaked a memory in me about the sardonic grin. I'd come across it when looking up details about dealing with Hemlock Water Dropwort....... which grows in th UK if you're unlucky.
Hemlock water dropwort. In 2009 scientists at the University of Eastern Piedmont in Italy claimed to have identified hemlock water dropwort as the plant responsible for producing the sardonic grin. This plant is the candidate for the "sardonic herb", which was a neurotoxic plant used perhaps for the ritual killing of elderly people in pre-Roman Sardinia.

That smell always comes across as musty to me... A smell I find very unpleasant and a very musty book (or indeed musty anything) can make me feel quite ill...

Re: "Word/Phrase of the Day"
Taphophobia.
The fear of being buried alive and waking up unable to escape or at least attract attention so people would often be buried with a bell, or a cord to a bell above ground.
From this comes the expression "Saved by the bell", as well as "Dead ringer". Also "Graveyard shift" originated from sextons sitting in among the graves at night listening for tintinnabulations*
*yet another wonderful word, long a favourite from the Shawn Phillips song "The Bells".
