Yes, Powerflex Richard (and an aftersales campaign showing as outstanding on this vehicle)

Thanks Marc, I doubt it's going back to the dealers now at 11 years old / 100k! Seems a bit odd it hasn't been back since we have family owned it from new...

I see there are lots of generic fluids, presume they must be OK, but I am wary of not fitting the genuine and causing more expensive issues down the line for the sake of £30!

Exactly - personally I stick to the branded stuff.

It might be worth calling them up about the after sales campaign out of curiosity - some of these have been rather extensive work on the injection and timing systems - all free of charge of course, but also may just be a software update. If it was me I'd just have to know! :)

Cheers Marc, 1litre about £70, 3 litres about £120, so we can buy enough to do both with some left over (mine will be due in the next year or so) for less than just enough for 2 cars. Winner!

Just wondered folk, I had been planning on topping up the fluid myself, until I slipped last week on some ice and broke a few ribs 🙈. I need the car over Xmas, cannot get under it for a few weeks yet, until I’m a bit more mobile, can I buy the fluid and put a small amount in when I fill up with fuel, will that keep me on the road and stop any issues, or will it go into limp mode when the fluid in the system seems to have been used up ?

I wouldn't as the fluid is metered in exact amounts. It's not intended for being put directly into the tank.

Best thing would be to see if you can get the dealer to do it for you in that case if you're going to need the car, as adding the fluid manually won't make any difference to the systems - as the engine ECU will still flag up the warnings and if you allow it to get too low (i.e. over the mileage range until your next service), then the pump may still be damaged if it is allowed to dry run.

So I finally got u see the car and the connection is snapped at the hose. Trying to locate a part in breakers yards but I’m guessing it’s fat to small for a reliable repair, if anyone knows anyone breaking, it’s a 2009 2.0 hdi

Not sure how to attach an image here but it’s right where the pipe joins the connection with the green push buttons to remove.

Thank you myglaren, image attached, taken by myself with no copyright issues :)

I’m thinking of cleaning the pipe and connector with degreaser and then alcohol cleaner, and then supergluing the broken connector back in place, then when set, heavily reinforcing the surrounding area with JB water weld putty or similar ?

Only way to repair that is to cut it off and fit a new one. You can probably buy the bits, but it may be easier just to get someone who has a kit to fix it. Don't know where the other end is, you might be able to take it off? Otherwise splice a new bit in on the car, might be possible just to fit a new end if there is enough slack.
