Citroen Zx16v

The doblo has now gone , I px'ed it against a freelander 2 td4 gs , it wasn't really worth much less than the laguna in px but there's was no way that was going . So my wife is now the proud owner of a freelander and I've got the her laguna . And I get to keep the Zx to , what a result . Just took the Zx out after being stood for over a week , started first time , it's long overdue a good wash so that's a job for late one evening when the suns gone down .

The registration on that one is very close to mine Martin , it's still around too . I'm not in the CCC yet Rob , I'll have to join and see if I can get hold of a copy .

I've managed to find my problem with the exhaust and it turns out it is the sealing ring in the manifold to front pipe which is broken , the car went on the ramps at my local exhaust specialist and you could see and hear the exhaust when he moved it with a long prybar , they don't list a sealing ring or spring clamp kit for the Zx16v so it looks like a trip to the dealers and hope they still do them , while the Zx is laid up I've been using the Laguna and been finding it sublime just cruising effortlessly to work and a run up the M1 to Wakefield , this car really is something on the motorway , I would imagine it would cruise at 90/100 mph without a problem ( not that I've tried it ) . So a trip to the dealer next week when I've got time and get the bits ordered .

That's the 'Brillo Pad' that's gone is it then Mark?

Hopefully it is the standard one. As far as I know there's only two. V6 size and everything else...

Be worth measuring it when you get a new kit and see if it is the same as the standard one...

Front pipe gasket kit now ordered from the local dealer , hopefully in for wed/thurs and get it fitted on Friday afternoon after work .

I picked up the brillo pad gasket and spring kit today from the dealer , fitting will be on Monday afternoon when I finish work . I'm looking forward to a nice quiet car again . In the meantime the Laguna is performing faultlessly as my daily driver .

The exhaust is now sorted and the Zx has resumed normal service . What a difference this has made , get to 4000rpm and it just flys (where permitted ) . Next up is its yearly service and get the acav system checked out , then it's MoT time come September .
