Well the XM is now back on the road and performing well. Still got the running back to the tank issue if its left for a couple of days but I'm working on that, I've now got a spare priming bulb to swap out after realising the one in the 1.9 has a smaller pipe.

Sunday was a very interesting day, I really wasn't sure what I was going to do so decided that browsing ebay might be a good idea...I came across an S2 TCT Exclusive XM which was for breaking near Exeter. Gave the chap a ring and it turns out that he's a bit of an XM enthusiast, 2.5's in particular! I whipped over after lunch and a few hours later I had an XM full of spare bits Most exciting though was the wood centre console trim and the V6 Speedline alloys They're going to need to be refurbed but should look smart once they're on. I also kept the strut tops which will need to be refurbed at some point too as although they look perfect from the top, underneath the rubber is peeling away.

Good work on the scavenging of XM parts Kev, those Speedlines are going to look great on your 2.1TD. The S2 XM trims were not one of Citroens better designs! Glad you have decided to put them on

Are you planning on sending the strut tops many many miles for someone to refurb them? Or do they just need a bit of a tidy up?

They really need sending many miles as the rubber has ripped away underneath.

The thing I was concerned about with those alloys were the tyres and whether I would be able to stick the 195/65 R15's on, I still need to check because I don't particularly want to buy another set of tyres. A couple of the alloys already have them on it seems.

I need to get hold of a set of tops and no doubt send them for the same treatment.

You can put your Xm size tyres on the alloy wheels, alloys are all the same size and are suitable for all XM size tyres.

The 5 spoke wobby webs on our XM estate wear the same 195.65.15 size tyres as yours has, they are fine and look good. There is still plenty of tyre wall before the rim. When I got the wheels from Dean they were fitted with a set of 195.60.15 tyres - what earlier XMs had.

I guess your Speedlines have 205.60.15, which is what my Prestige has. Either the 205s or 195s would suit, they must have a very similar rolling radius too.

The 24v/Prestige/S2 Exclusive Speedlines ... they have 5 spokes and are double spoked It was a strange way of describing them, I admit

I only called them speedlines as thats what I noticed was written on them, I shall have to start referring to them as 24v alloys for consistency . Looking at them, they have 5 spokes but each of the 5 spokes look to be split up into 2.
