If it's not a Renault/Citroen I wouldn't want to say really , it definetly won't be a Ford as good as they have got in recent years . I'd love an Alfa but the new ones are too much of a vauxhall for me , but the 159 is a thing of beauty .

That's the colour Chris , with the black leather interior , absolute beauty . I have been very tempted but as I've mentioned before it would mean moving the Zx and doblo on and I don't really want to do that , I've tried to convince my wife into a 159 but no success ( yet )

Nothing much to report on the Laguna really as it does everything so well , it's recently had a puncture repair done on the o/s/r and while I was there thought I would price up some tyres (225/45/18) , prices start at around £68 for budgets and branded in the region of £130 each , thankfully it's not ready for any yet but it's nice to have a rough idea how much . During the cold weather the heated seats have been fantastic and the keyless locking/unlocking/start is a great feature , so if anyone Is considering a Laguna III , my advice would be get one there cracking cars and good value .

I've not heard of any issues with them , we would have another one anyday , but it would have to be the 175bhp again . An initiale estate would be nice .

Still running without fault , a good wash today to get all the road salt off . Gave the wheel arches a good scrub with some bilt hamber surfex Hd . This car never dissapoints , what have Renault done when they stopped making them .If I ever had to part with the Zx and the Doblo I would love another one of these but I have an Alfa Romeo 159 itch to scatch

I can see the appeal with those Mark, both the LagunaIII and Alfa 159. I'd like a black pretendy estate (no idea what name Alfa use these days) with read leather However, a skateboard probably rides better so it would soon annoy me Im sure the Laguna is the better and more reliable choice.
I do wonder what Renault have up its sleeve for future cars, I hope the look of the new Clio is not what the rest of the range will look like.

As you know Chris we've also had two laguna II's and now this III , when it comes to change this I really don't know what it would be for , there's nothing French that really appeals perhaps a DS5 at a push if they depreciate like other big Citroens .

I wouldn't have a DS5, it has nothing which I like about Citroens. I'd no doubt look elsewhere before getting one of those, I'm still yet to go in one but they are not supposed to ride very well and I'm not a huge fan of the looks. They are not as big as I thought they would be either.
If I was looking for a modern estate type car, I think it would be a Peugoet 508 SW, I think they look great and they are massive too. They ride reasonably well too.

The Laguna is running like clockwork and after driving an Alfa Romeo 159 a few weeks ago I can't believe how underrated these Laguna 3's are , the Alfa felt like a big overweight lump next to the Renault , and when you consider you can get a newer/better spec model for your money there stands no comparison .
I may even be taking it on as my daily driver as my wife has been thinking about a small/medium 4x4 , we took a Dacia Duster 1.5 Dci out for a test drive today and we were very impressed with it , we also took a Fiat panda 4x4 twin air 900cc 2 cylinder turbo out for a test drive , I must admit they will be an aquired taste and you have to work it to get the best out off it (not my wife's driving style) it was a totally different car to her 1.3 multijet 500 , sadly they didn't have a diesel 4x4 to test so we will wait for one to try . For now the duster is top of the list , I was very happy with it and they are very good value for basically a Renault/Nissan parts bin raid by Dacia .

Well it was MoT time for the Laguna yesterday so I dropped it off at the local Peugeot dealer where I normally take it , upon return I was happy to see a new MoT but with a few advisories which I thought a little silly , No1 was undertrays fitted obscuring some underside components ? No2 Engine covers fitted obscuring some components in the engine bay ? and finally No3 Tow ball/hitch not fitted at time of test (a Renault removable one which we don't even have the ball for ) , I've been told the towbar is now included in the MoT but engine covers/undertrays ?!?! Is the tester taking the mick or what , everycar had them so are they all going to get an advisory ? When our Fiat 500 went for test last September there was no advisory for having covers/trays .

Yes, I've had quite a few advisory notices for undertrays and engine covers, I really don't understand. I guess they are covering their back incase its hidning a failure reason which they would miss. They test the electrics for the towbar too, and no doubt check how rusty the towball is looking too.
