Well i didn't need to wait that too long..

Huge oil cloud coming from breather pipe.

Need to take engine out and see what to do.

How many miles has it done? Its quite normal for a high boost engine to breathe heavily, its a good idea to uprate the breather system to help reduce pressure on the piston rings because when boost goes up, crankcase pressure goes up too. I would go catch tank on it. As long as compression is good, monitor oil usage and go from there. You'l know when the engine is shot but a heavy breather shouldnt be a reason to rebuild it yet.

Once he got grip on third gear he overtook me like I was standing still... :)

My PB was 15,216@149,32km/h.

With that many miles, i would say its had its best days... time for some forged pistons!

Oh dear Jeth :(

It had a short but brilliant career

I'll be interested to know what let go. I'd suspect a holed piston as a result of detonation or one or more of the top rings gave out for the same reason...

The bottom end is normally able to take the kind of power you were developing but as Gareth says, some forged pistons may be a good thought for next time...

Serious loss of compression if you had a holed piston though Jim... I suspect its just worn out. If its smoking from the exhaust and creating a smokescreen then rings/ringlands on the pistons could be cracked, but if mapped correctly then detonation wont be the cause of his issues

Hehe, thanks.

My goal is to get engine out this week.

Then friend of mine comes to rub old paint off

Putting a positive spin on things Jeth, you now have an ideal opportunity to really clean the engine bay and make it look nice

Looking forward to hearing news of what let go inside the engine...

Project has been standing still for a while now, I did open the engine, piston rings and pistons etc. are looking good, only headgasket had blown really badly..

Oh well, now that engine is stripped im building it with new stock parts, and sadly selling it after getting it running :/

Already sold VEMS and turbo I used on it..
