I fitted a kit and tensioned it, the official way is to use a SEEM gauge but I tensioned it by making sure I could just twist the belt about 90 degrees on the longest run.
I then put it all back together and a day later it slipped.
Best to tension it up and then reassemble without the cambelt cover, leave it idling for an hour or so (so that it gets up to temperature) and check the tension again. If it's too loose you'll be able to twist it further than 90 degrees. Once hot, if its too tight it'll likely start squealing.
Plenty of help on here once you start tackling the job.

Thats the parts just ordered now, went to euro car parts counter tonight after work only to find it was £30 more expensive to purchase over the ECP counter than it was to buy it from their website
So came home and ordered them. the thinest head gasjet they had on their site was 1.4mm and i am sure the 5 notch gasket is 1.5 mm and the current gasket that had been fitted was four notch.
so am i right in saying the 4 notch is 1.4mm???
Cheers
