I read this about a go faster, or more accurately a stop faster accessory for the TESLA model S Plaid, should you have a spare $20,000 to spend on your expensive toy at a track-day.

Tesla unveils $20,000 Carbon Ceramic Brake Kit for Model S Plaid

While not at that scale, the making the standard car go faster, or stop faster has been a thread throughout motoring past and present. Just thinking back though, I remain to this day a virgin on such matters. I have never knowingly bolted anything on to any of the cars I have owned to do such things. I may have flirted with a "sports steering wheel" to replace the standard bakelite? bus steering wheel on my Mini, but can't be sure.

Anyway from the treasure trove that is Vauxpedia an advert for some adaptions to give your Cresta a little more poke.

Brake servos were the favourite add-ons in the fifties and sixties Neil and cylinder heads such as Alexander conversions on BMC A series engines, twin carbs etc.

The site referred to has a wealth of information and not just on Alexanders.

They appeared to morph into a Paddy Hopkirk-esque accessory catalogue in the 1970's.

Yes, I do :D Two in fact... They're used to protect my bike whilst in transit to and from a race...

They're both very old, a bit faded but otherwise still very functional... I've had them forever and they were originally in dad's cars... I remember them as a kid...

They must be at least 55 years old ...

Mine is currently on duty in the garage insulating some tender tubers. But it is beginning to show signs of it's age:

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

A gorgeous Vauxhall Cresta from the February 2023 upcoming sale at Mathewsons, which just had to be included in the nice 2-tone thread here
viewtopic.php?p=740508#p740508

As i watched the video I noticed in the window the nostalgic "Running In" sticker so it warrants its place in this thread.

You just need the Werther's toffees, the pipe and the trilby to complete the picture Jim.
