Only a matter of time til one gets stranded on a beach or a ford and gets submerged. Or visits a harbour from it's car park above.

Bargain basement electric reports the Falcon once again selecting the correct gear to avoid such matters at Berwick Quayside. Maybe illogical but you pull the selector back to go forwards and pushDormouse wrote: 08 Dec 2022, 13:32 Only a matter of time til one .... Or visits a harbour from it's car park above.
it forwards to reverse

Another factor is the instant torque of the electric motor can easily overcome the parking brake, if you happen to be sat in ready to go mode with the parking brake on. Hit the accelerator and away you go. I have to admit the tech voice saying “release parking brake” has been heard quite a few times because the motor just so easily overpowers it you don’t realise it’s on. It is also a foot operated parking brake on the leaf no obvious lever poking up down by your left hand to tell you it’s on.
Today I do believe
I spotted Nissan’s new offering on a 72 Plate.. Saw the green flash on the number plate, and the Nissan badge at the front, and glancing back Nissan lettering across the rear. No pic.
Nissan describe it as a Force of Wonder Electric Crossover

Re: Electric Vehicles: What have you spotted?
That being the case would it not make sense for Nissan to have programmed the ECU such that throttle movement is ignored if the parking brake is engaged?NewcastleFalcon wrote: 08 Dec 2022, 17:19

Surely a simple software "If ....then" command required?

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Without the name being left on, you would be had pushed to identify this vehicle planned with an ultra modern at the time EV powertrain and a Solar roof powering the ventilation system
Picked up from the Video Dormouse posted here ( viewtopic.php?p=739319#p739319 ), it's the concept car the Trabant NT which didn't get further than these very nice pictures although they look so good possibly a recreation after the event.

Re: Electric Vehicles: What have you spotted?
There's more on the Trabant NT and the NT stands for New Thinking.
It did not make it into production...when the concept car was developed for the IAA in 2009.
It did get a website and a brochure and had an unveiling at the IAA in September 2009

Re: Electric Vehicles: What have you spotted?
BMW iX3.
A not before seen Polestar, took a photo but not on the camera when I got home. Couldn't see a model number/name but the back was filthy and number plate unreadable.
Also had a chat with a neighbour of my son's with an Electric C4 and asked him how he liked it, he reckoned it was the best car he has had had and he has had several Citroens but also was a Rolls Royce salesman and has driven most models. There was one that he thought was as good as the C4 but don't recall which model he said it was.
His wife is disabled with spinal problems and he says it suits her better than anything else too.
He is very pleased with the economy too, charges at home during the cheapest period.
The only thing he didn't like was the app, completely crap translation from French to English.
