No, it's a bit ironic isn't it
Which reminds me, I must update it with details of yesterdays work...
I drove yesterday (not in my car but a V******all) for the first time in well over a week and found myself going so slowly (but quite contentedly) I was really peeing off some drivers following me...
Sod 'em

Don't worry Jim, I will let you go to the coast in the X7 next time your down, lets see how much you can squeeze out of a 2ltr Oiler with Auto/AirCon/DPF/EGR in South Coast holiday traffic etc
When you drive around the country roads in deepest Northumberland, the best driving advice ever...."always drive at a speed where you can stop within the distance you can see to be clear" should always be followed.......you may meet one of these round the corner like I did today.
We just have endless caravans, horses and those Wiggos in their silly suits and hats which are less predictable (with their stretch out handlebars) than the horses which normally have better backsides on top of them, got to take a tight pair of jodhpurs over vinyl Latex ball wrap
The "Prancing Horse" is a logo of Aveling-Barford....wonder if Ferrari nicked it May have some link with the "Flag of Kent" as the origins of Aveling-Porter were based in Kent.
The Rev. W. Awdry based George the Grumpy Steamroller on an Aveling-Barford steamroller.
His motto was "Railways are no good, pull them up, turn them into roads!"

On one of the country lanes I drive on the way to work, the farmer puts out a sign at the side of the road each harvest time. It simply says: "Wide tractors. Narrow lanes. Your call. " It' s probably more effective than a 'Slow Down' sign !

The Ferrari logo was that of an Italian first world war fighter pilot (Enrico Baracca) who had it on his aircraft as they were incorporated into a cavalry squadron at the time.
When he was killed his father asked Enzo Ferrari to put it on his cars.
Overall average on the 107 since I bought it (49K miles ago...) is 49.3mpg. It'll go into the 50s if I'm really careful, but the bulk of those miles have been done over the last couple of years in Oxford traffic...
Also, got to be worth some rarity points these days: in the car park at Snetterton Race circuit where we were today for the Touring Cars was a C plate Nissan Cherry 1.3 SGL Maxima.
...I have to confess to having a big soft spot for these given my parents had one when I was growing up. Was a mint car too, surely owned by an enthusiast. No big alloys or big exhaust either, but it was absolutely gleaming in the sun.
Also spotted a Volvo 480 - apparently with a flat battery as it was getting a jump. Sadly wasn't in the Xantia, but was in a Frenchie at least, in a friend's parents 307.
Current fleet:
07 Volvo V70 SE D5, 88 Renault 25 Monaco, 85 Sinclair C5, 84 Trabant 601S, 75 Rover 3500, 73 AC Model 70.
From the book I would rate the volvo alongside the SAAB 900 at 10 points, and controversial maybe the Cherry gets more, 30 points like the Triumph Acclaim.
