When a locking wheel bolt on my C5 would not come undone I ended up paying the local scrappy £20 to get it removed. It took the guy 45 minutes to get the bl00dy thing out (and I think my C5 learned some unusual language). Now there are 4 standard bolts replacing those evil bolts of the devils' invention.

I am of the belief that, if you HAVE to use locking wheel bolts, they should only be done up half as tight as the standard bolts. That way they should not seize in place.

Agree with James, locking bolts are the devils work and should be thrown away as soon as you can.....

I had dumped the lockers on this car when I owned it. And I cant understand how the right rear wont come off. I changed that wheel on the morning that Peter collected the car! It came off without any problem, and was only put on with the short wheelbrace and more or less just tightened untill it was on if you understand what I mean. The other 3 were torqued up properly.

Davie, sorry for any confusion, the o/s rear has come off, the o/s front is the one still stuck on and the other three bolts on that wheel were all on at 1000 lb/ft (roughly)
I have found that there are quite a few specialist locking nut removal experts nearby, so I'll give them a ring tomorrow.

A bit of advice someone on here came up with some time ago was to park the offending wheel close to a wall and use a scissor jack or similar against the wall and wind it out so it forces the key and brace onto the nut. It allows a bit more force to be applied Might not work on already mangled nuts though

Irwin Reverse Flute sockets, those intended for removing bolts with mangled heads, can often work too...

I took it to a local engineering firm today who used what could well be the tool refered to above to get it off.

I hope you have tightened the wheelnuts up to at least 1000lb/ft as some folk do Peter. Wouldnt want them to come off too easily

Shes looking good now. I still think she needs decails of some sort. Maybe a bit more subtle than I had, maybe a nice CITROEN SPORT along the bottom of the doors, but in silver or grey, not the bright red I had. I like the red calipers showing through the black wheels. I wonder who did them red

I like the red calipers too and it's held up remarkably well!
Not sure about decals, I like the stealth look. I do have some new VTS badges to go on as the originals are now very faded.

A quick update.

When on a long motorway drive I sometimes get two error messages together as follows "ESP/ASR fault" and "Directional Headlights faulty" Don't know about the stability system, but the headlights work fine anyway trying to work out what linked the two and I remembered that the steering wheel is well out of line when driving straight. I couldn't get one of the track rod ends undone myself so had my mechanic adjust the tracking and centre the wheel. Drove to Norwich and back to see my youngest daughter and it seems to have fixed this!
Also noticed the aircon not working, that'll just need a re gas mate! Wrong, condensor leaking.

Also the tail pipe on the exhaust fell off, oh well! Managed to get a replacement that fits well for £25 in Jayar.

Yep, fixed hub on the C4!

The tailpipe suits the car as it's almost the same shape and size as the standard pipe. The shotgun style was fitted by Davie and I had much the same on my last VTS so it makes a change for me. Davie also tried out a couple of sticker options on it.

I also pulled the badges off the back so chavs in their hot hatches didnt know what just kicked their asses lol

I did it on mine (old one) soon after you! I think the debadged boot is a good look on the Coupe. I also ran the old one without VTS badges for a while, but decided I prefered it with them.
