Never had a VW in my motoring career, but clicked on the VW variant in white from the auction list. not sure why that sort of thing perks my interest noisy and pretty ordinary.

Only if she won't let go!
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

Inside every old person is a young person wondering what the hell happened.

Had a couple of those pass through my hands in the business, quite difficult to find a buyer at the time when Beetles were all the go.

The only VW group car in that list I would entertain is the 1978 Audi 100, lot 729, I used one of those for a year or so and enjoyed it.

We had a red Audi 100 Avant from that era and loved it. Followed by a couple of Passat estates. The Avant was the best of that bunch. After that we had 2 GSA estates and finally a VW 412 LE auto that I used to demonstrate Gunson Mastertune Diagnostic units on. I could carry my demo units and lift the engine lid with the tailgate open and demonstrate the diagnostic kit on my own car virtually "instantly" - rain or shine, in the car park or outside a client's busy workshop without disturbing their work in progress.

There is a new Bonham's catalogue available today, as usual full of exotica and rich man's toys but if you look carefully there are a few nice options to be found like this old favourite of mine:

A real shame that the stylists who designed those and other cars of the period have been replaced by ..................what? :)

Some good friends of ours have recently moved back to the UK, and taken delivery of a brand new Jag F-Pace.
Hybrid, so lose brownie points there.
And - honestly - just looks like any number of SUV-types on the market, nothwithstanding the badging.
OK, as a previous Bentley and Jag owner (in earlier life), I understand his wanting to re-live earlier glories . . . but, honestly, why?
And what might that be worth when, in not many years time, ICE gets finally outlawed and buried.
Buyer's choice, of course.
