The red church clocks count has gome up by one purely out of chance on our little holiday in North Yorkshire
Here it is, All Saints Church At Hunmanby near Filey

Re: Picture(s) of the day..
That's a cracker of a find Neil
Seems we've been both away for a little break this weekend then
Hope yours was as good as mine...
Whilst strolling the beach below Highcliffe between Barton-on-Sea and Christchurch I spotted the remains of one of these:
Not sure of these have been covered in POTD before but potentially a nice, rich seam to mine
This one, I think, has been a victim of cliff erosion and was once much further up the cliff, if not on top of it!

Re: Picture(s) of the day..
I was in Banbury recently, and I found this;
James
ex BX 1.9
ex Xantia 2.0HDi SX
ex Xantia 2.0HDi LX
ex C5 2.0HDi VTR
ex C5 2.0HDi VTR
ex C5 2.2HDi VTX+
Yes, I am paranoid, but am I paranoid ENOUGH?
Out amongst the stars, looking for a world of my own!

Re: Picture(s) of the day..
Thanks Jim it was! We did a last minute Monday to Friday job Jim. Initial thoughts were North quite fancied seeing that Station up a Weymms Bay and maybe doing a bit of Arran/Isle of Bute and even a Day trip to Glasgow.CitroJim wrote: 13 Nov 2017, 16:01 That's a cracker of a find Neil

Trouble with the internet, is it comes up with too many alternatives when you look at whats available and we were going round in circles so out comes the "Random" holiday selector....4 bits of paper with North/South/East/West on, and that would determine where we went for the accomodation. Ended up with South (ie Yorkshire/Derbyshire) and the best on offer in terms of price/location/accommodation was a cottage near Thirsk!
Totally random, and an excellent area to explore.
Even discovered a Citroen H Van parked up behind a Cafe in Ampleforth! Regards Neil

Re: Picture(s) of the day..
Well leading on from Jim's picture of that cube of concrete, I had a bit of a search for such things, presumably some sort of WWII defences. I knew there were some good examples of such things at Blyth in Northumberland and came up with this sea of info and pictures from Gloucester (not actual Gloucester but the farm!) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Battery at Blyth. Its from the site Derelictplaces which has the tagline "Documenting Decay"....(yes fascinating!)
https://www.derelictplaces.co.uk/main/w ... rland.html
Its strangely interesting though, and we have had plenty of exposure on POTD of such places.
On my travels around the site I did discover this very good "Slideshow" of a Tour of disused parts of Euston Underground.....some of the buildings are going to be demolished, so pretty much a last chance viewing.

Re: Picture(s) of the day..
Well the roman numeral for 61,000 is
LXM
So a picture of an L-Reg XM would do!

Re: Picture(s) of the day..
My research into 61000 has revealed plenty of info, but whether any pics exist of that particular loco is another matter.
The Class was B1 aka Springbok and heres a pic from wiki of another member of the class but not 61000, and guess what its at a Norfolk Station...Norwich Thorpe! What do I know about Norfolk...more and more each day it seems!
