Well done, I just happened to catch an episode of The Sweeney this morning which I hadn't seen and it got me pondering!!

A trivia question which has arisen from today's FA Cup ties. One of the ties featured two teams who share a word in their title which is only used by one other top flight team as far as I can think!! So the questions are:
Name the two teams in today's tie - 5 points each
Name the third team in the top flight - 10 points
What was the original meaning of the word they have in common - 20 points

All easily looked up but points only for Top of the Head answers!!

Haven't got it yet but its a choice of two working back from the top flight! Got two "A"'s but have 3 "W"'s
Not familiar TOH with all the ties so bit of a guess and I have the 3 W's so here it is

Top Flight team Wolverhampton Wanderers
Original Meaning Some tie in with Rovers, so travelling around to take on other teams away from their home town.

Could be Albion of course which may have some Scottish connotation..bit like in rugby Lnndon Irish, London Welsh, London Scottish etc. Scotland does thave Stirling Albion, Albion Rovers etc with Alba being Scotland.
The premier league team in that case would be Brighton and Hove Albion, and the tie West Bromwich Albion v unspecified Albion

The New York Times has bought that one recently...it is a habit forming daily thing to do.

There are bandwagon jumpers, and variations on a theme, sprouting up but the original Wordle is perfect simplicity, even if now US spellings (it is now owned by the NY Times can confuse HUMOR was the answer a few days ago

The falcon got todays word in 4 attempts. Depends how competitive you are.
I dont think 4 could be beaten with today's word.

Remember it but can't remember actually playing it properly.
A favourite game for us, and still is from time to time, we used the Kan-U-Go cards to turn over after choosing a category, and first one to come up with something in the category beginning with the letter turned over won the card.

Uncle Jim always used to come up with some odd things like Lake Titicaca, Lapis Lazuri, and Vladivostock and of course they used to regularly reappear in subsequent games.

For the reluctant to try or the uninterested this is the Worldle today.

I put in Albania for the first guess, and the result shows that Albania is 4853 km in a South-West direction from the correct Country. I got the correct country in two further guesses which I have blanked out just in case anyone wants to play along.
