That particular one is from 8) combemarshal a regular contributor to Activa net.
Shame he appears to be selling it.
I hope he places a card about Activanet & the French Car Forum in it, so the new owner can get in touch. 8)

Hi,
Thought people might be interested in my Activa and how I came to own it. I bought it off ebay for £150
last September. I bought it on impulse to save it from the Peugeot fate as I knew they were getting rare. I picked it up from St Andrews and drove it back to West Yorks and was completely bowled over by it so ended up keeping it.
So if anyone remembers seeing this on ebay last year, don't worry its in good hands!
Its a silver Mk1 and has both A/C and sunroof. Its mileage is fairly low at 88k and the engine is sweet. Some issues with the suspension which I'll have to get sorted. All in all though, the biggest bargain in history and a MUCH better car than C4 coupe I had 'til last year.
My only real issue is the interior. Its actually in really good order but the upholstery reminds me of an old British Rail commuter train! So I'm on the lookout for a leather interior.
WAINY.

Its a shame Citroen often used fussy interior trims, mainly in later 90s cars. The Saxo, Xsara, Xantia all suffered with 'granny sofa' like fabric!
If only we had HDi Activas over here, i know what my current daily car would have been, and it wouldnt be the C5!
Has anyone any idea if anyone has ever imported one?
Was it the standard HDi 110? Or bigger? I suppose a 110 HDi Activa with a remap and some tuning, in a lightish Xantia would be pretty good.

One for sale on Autotrader. Quite near me too (it's in Bolton) - I'd be going for a look if I didn't have one already!
Link
It's a 1999 T-reg, in blue, 93k, £445. Wonder what the catch is

I suppose the same could have happened in the U.K. if they had publicized the car more, and offered the full engine range, and dropped the price a bit, then more people would have known about it, and therefore the car would have been more in demand, hence the resale price would be higher.anybloodybody wrote:The Activa holds its price much better in France.
Two high milers on ebay.fr at the moment.
MK1's with plenty of miles and both asking over 3000 Euros (£2½ grand)
As it is the Activa is like a secret, a well kept secret!
Its value is underrated, or even unknown, amongst most people, and with the Activa dispatchers

Don't you sometimes wish you were french? no me neither, but I'd love them, especially the silver one, looks like the ultimate xantia.

The silver one's nice alright - pity the steering wheel's on the wrong side.
