The more I look on the electrical diagrams, there is no reference to the separate additive ECU, so good news on that front, this being the case, but it will definitely be there. Selct the engine ECU, and you are looking for any are containing the diesel particulate filter. It may be buried in there somewhere.

Thanks everyone, I finally found it. For anyone reading this far in the future:

Open Diagbox > Repair > Test by ECU > Engine ECU > Repair > Replacement Parts > Filling of the Additive Reservoir (this menu option is off the main screen, you have to scroll down to bottom of window). You simply click OK and it says "Programming Done" and it sets the level to 3L again and it then allows you to delete the fault when you cycle the ignition again.
I'm sure I tried this option at some point and it didn't work, but Diagbox doesn't always seem to have a good connection with the ECU so might have been I was unlucky.

I had some good advice from where I got the DPF Fluid. Even though the 407 is a DPF tank, they sold me 2x Pouches and a fuel line quick connector. You simply drill the quick connector core out and it connects to the tanks connector directly. Squeeze the pouches into the tank. No mess, no pipe connecting kit needed.

But how do you tell the ECU that it's been filled?

As above. Open Diagbox > Repair > Test by ECU > Engine ECU > Repair > Replacement Parts > Filling of the Additive Reservoir

That's basically it. It resets to 3L, then you can clear the fault too.

Okay, I'll try again. Last time I had the diagbox plugged in my son was in charge of the laptop which scared the hell out of me! He's one of those where you say don't touch it you'll break it, says he won't then touches and breaks it! I didn't want a bricked ECU
