Well, that's a bugger. All the posts but those three above were lost in the move. Why it only moved the still existing posts and disappeared the others I have no idea.

Yes I ask the stupid questions, because normally it is that simple.

I suggest we wait for 24 hours to see if the lost posts are recovered, and if not I will repost my pictures and the original pic that started it all off!!

Mick found them hiding in a completely different thread so all seems to be well now.
Oddly enough I have seen three HH's in the past week, first for years. Used to have them come in the garden.

When we lived in Kent (pre 1970) hedgehogs were a common sight, since we lived here, nowhere near a road or other houses in the midst of farmland, we haven't seen one, that's in 53 years!

Re: Hedgehogs and anything to do with them!!
There's a lady (very) local to us who has a space cut in her garden gate for them, and has a hedgehog cam set up to film them as they have a "house" near her shed. She posted a picture of the camera feed on the Twyford FB group of a cat that goes and sits there for hours, and gets rid of the mice that appear near the hedgehogs.
My cat. That's where all the bloody mice it brings come from! She reckons it sits there for hours, watching. Totally ignores the hedgehogs.

Love it! Reminds me of the possibly apocryphal tale of some neighbours seeing a house nearby up for sale and looking at the estate agent's photos only to see their cat lying on one of the beds...

I'm trying to find the pic, but I had an ADHD-driven "tidy up" of my photos a few months ago, and now it's a complete f@%*ing mess.

Re: Hedgehogs and anything to do with them!!
Is it possible okay to make a teired hide? That ground is on a slope. Do they need contact with the mud or would a wooden floor suffice?

Ours has a wooden floor, they are not great at steps more than 10mm so if you need a higher one incorporate a ramp!

Re: Hedgehogs and anything to do with them!!
I was thinking of leveling the area with wood but set it far back that it's not visible behind/beside the shed. I'm thinking a long small entrance so they can get in and out and maybe grass on top for insulation. What do you think?

Re: Hedgehogs and anything to do with them!!
Sounds a fair plan, I'd put a water proof membrane like pond liner between the roof and the grass to keep the roots from invading the space and the inside nice and dry.

Is it okay if I put a ramp up to the hive? It's on sloppy ground.
