Re: citroen c5 x7 front spheres
To get to the front stiffness regulator sphere, the front subframe needs to be removed officially, so unless you have access to a hydraulic ramp to do this, you may not have room to work.

Re: citroen c5 x7 front spheres
Hi! I'm planning to replace the left front sphere this weekend and hope that it is the culprit for the car's stiffness in the left front corner.GiveMeABreak wrote: 07 Jun 2023, 18:25 You don't have to depressurise the whole vehicle if you are only replacing the front spheres. You can just depressurise the front axle.
See my guide here:
viewtopic.php?p=649287#p649287
When you have completed the sphere change, tighten the pressure release screw back up.
- So undo the LDS cap
- Raise the car up on highest suspension.
- Jack the car up enough to allow supports to be inserted under the front
- When the wheels are hanging freely, lower the car's suspension to the lowest setting.
- Then follow the guide to release the pressure in the front circuit.
If you have lost any LDS fluid when depressurising, top up only by the amount you have lost.If all is well bleed the system: raise the vehicle to the highest level again, then all the way to the lowest level, wait for a few minutes, then slowly turn from lock to lock (without holding at the lock) several times slowly.
- Start the engine and place the suspension into the highest setting
- Allow the car to stabilise which may take a few minutes
- Then gently lower the jack to lower the vehicle back to the ground then remove the jack once the vehicle is supporting itself at the front.
Centre the steering and check the LDS fluid level is between the 'A' & 'B'
When complete raise the suspension to normal position and refit the LDS cap.

The plan is to follow the procedure you describe and link to. Is there anything else that one should or can consider during a job like this?
