Also looking to move on from 306 life, I have been looking at DV6 powered cars and seem to be settling on a T9 308. Trying to avoid the 16V for simplicity and reliability to see that the DV6DTED is a 16v unit but when on catcarinfo or similar it seems to be an 8v?

Are the Euro 5 engines all 8 valve ?

Some of the 1.6 Diesels were originally 16 valve, but were changed back to 8 valve, so depends on the engine code as to which one is which:
DV6 ATED490 PS (66 kW; 89 hp)Turbo-Diesel 16-valve
DV6 B75 PS (55 kW; 74 hp)Turbo-Diesel 16-valve
DV6 TED4110 PS (81 kW; 108 hp)Turbo-Diesel 16-valve
DV6 C115 PS (85 kW; 113 hp)Turbo-Diesel 8-valve
DV6 D92 PS (68 kW; 91 hp)Turbo-Diesel 8-valve
DV6 FE75 PS (55 kW; 74 hp)Turbo-Diesel 8-valve
DV6 FD95 PS (70 kW; 94 hp)[4]Turbo-Diesel 8-valve
DV6 FC120 PS (88 kW; 118 hp)[4]Turbo-Diesel 8-valve

Pop your VIN up and I can advise of the engine code. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.

If you require the actual official part number for a new or replacement engine, that will require a membership upgrade as this info is chargeable (see details below):

We can help if you need an original genuine part number, part diagram or vehicle factory build sheet and can't already find the info you need on the Forum. For this service, we do ask for a membership upgrade for official parts data as we are in turn charged for this. It will cover you for future part number requests for up to 3 years (pending continued service availability), so excellent value.

If interested, links are below, then provide your vehicle's VIN in full, which will be masked automatically when you submit your post.
