I don't know if it's still available but Blue Hylomar was available in an aerosol which I used when I was rebuilding my Alfa Romeo engine. You could get an even coverage of the sealant that way.
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

I had no idea it was available (and still is) in aerosol form.
Could be good for larger/studded areas, with suitable masking and control of overspray.
Good one, Paul!

I've done many heads, timing belts, water pumps in my time and generally, anything plastic or aluminium only requires around 12 to 15 Nm (Newton Metres) or approx 8 to 10 foot pounds. Check again after one hot to cool cycle.
Has anyone seen the plot? :?

FINAL UPDATE - HOPEFULLY
I have tried 4 times to seal the thermostat housing to the head. The ebay housing would not seal with blue holymar, i bought a new one from Euro car parts for £39 it came with two paper gaskets. I thought this must be the reason because the old one and the ebay had no gaskets. I fitted it but it to leaked this time both oil and coolant! but the system appears to cool the engine.
I contacted peugeot for new gaskets with the idea that i would use blue hoylmar as well. They told me that only black locktite sealant should be used. I couldn't get any so i used another silicone engine sealant ( and lots of it) and so far after 300miles the system is sealed. I hope this info helps others with this problem - thanks

The professional (and OEM) liquid gaskets are usually polyurethane, not silicone, which tends to be too elastic and not adhesive enough.

Hi! If you don't have oil in the coolant or bubbles in the expansion tank, it's a good sign that the head gasket is not the problem. The oil leak could be coming from other places, like the rocker cover gasket or the oil pump, especially if it's near the timing belt. It would be good to pinpoint the exact location of the leak with a dye. As for the asbestos head gasket, it can indeed be replaced with a more modern model, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it needs to be changed because of the oil leak. You can also take a look at this article on Fixing a head gasket leak with specific oil, which might give you some temporary solutions to seal the leak, if needed.
good luck my friend
