Sometimes the units can overheat, especially in the winter when the internal cabin temperature / heating is turned up high.

The best thing you can do is to leave it for a while to cool down. If it is the thermal cut-out, then when the system reaches operating temperature again, it should start up again automatically.

If it doesn't after a significant amount of time without the vehicle running, then it may well have an internal fault. But a temporary fault usually means just that.
