I agree the dpf may need attention but with fault codes active it wont regenerate so flushing or replacing will be a short term fix.
I've ordered a diag tool so will be able to read the values next week.

Update
Found wire p1376 was corroded, possibly from the battery as the loom sits next to it. When I touched it it fell in two.
All errors now cleared and gone.
The dpf has a residue level of 102% so seaking expert help from a teraclean expert

That'll do it then - wire 1376 is the Pre/post-heat unit command - so the engine ECU has not been able to tell the plug control unit to operate.
With that level of blockage a regeneration is out of the question to be honest - anything from 75% blockage up can prevent or make a regen. difficult or impossible. A deep clean will hopefully restore the DPF. Well done.

The ecu has a maximum number of generations limit which once exceeded puts a warning light on ?
A stuck open erg valve causes more regenerations?
The glow plugs are not used in the regeneration process

1) The ECU does not have a max number of regens. However the engine ECU estimates the amount of additive that has been injected into the DPF. Cerine particles (contained in the diesel additive) are the elements that cannot be burnt off in a regeneration, unlike the soot, so they will ultimately block the filter. This will require a replacement or deep clean to remove as much of the cerine as possible.
2) No a stuck open EGR has no impact on regenerations - that is only used to allow or disallow exhaust gas back into the cylinders to reduce combustion temperature and also reduces pollution (NOx) emitted by the exhaust. But if the EGR valve gets stuck, it will inform the engine ECU. The EGR position info can be read with a suitable diagnostic tool.
3) The glow plugs are used by the engine ECU for regeneration - this is their roles:
The pre-heater plugs enable a rapid rise in temperature in the combustion chambers during the starting and cold-running phases.
The pre-heater plugs are also used for depollution, contributing to the reduction of nitrous oxides and soots.
There are 4 modes of use for the pre-heater plugs:
During a regeneration phase, the BSI may ask the engine ECU to operate the pre-heater plugs so as to "load" the engine (To increase the electrical consumption in order to augment the engine temperature for the requirements of the particle filter).
The plugs are activated for a maximum duration of one second and their activation depends on engine speed and also fuel flow (Risk of overheating and knock).

Awsome - basically I've been robbed of £300 to alter the estimation number. There were no codes to do with the erg valve but was told the flap was stuck open.

Not sure I understand what you are saying about ‘number of estimations’? I’m assuming you have had some work done? What was done in that case?

If you have asked for the particle filter additive tank to be topped up, then that will be about right - the additive is very expensive - so depends on how much they have put in. That will also require the engine ECU to have the additive counter reset to zero. The additive tank can be topped up at anytime (usually at about 70k miles or so for the first top up), but depends on use. You can leave it until the warning comes on and then that will likely require the 3 litre top-up.

I had a similar problem with mine but higher miles - 130K. I had the DPF warning light and was told to replaced teh additive bag. I checked the bag and it still had plenty of fluid in it so got the garage to reset the counter. It turned out that the count is based upon the number of refuels you have done and the count is based upon a switch in fuel filler flap. Finally we established a connector for this cable had corroded and failed hence not counting refuels and triggering the additive fault. The connector is between the fuel tank and underside of the car so a pig to get to!

Hey! Back to the topic in 2025. I have a similar problem with my C Crosser. Fault code P1351.
I have replaced the preheater relay and glow plugs so far, no effect. Started to do some basic wiring check - have COM, 12V BAT, all plugs are on the line. I would like yo know what voltage is expected for PIN 3 and PIN 8 on the relay? When ignition is on, as was getting 3.4V and 10.5V on them.
Appreciate any help!
