C5 X7 suspension strut fluid leak - Replacement mini guide page 2

Hi. Can you help me? Today I changed the shock absorber from my Citroen C5 x7 because it was leaking oil and now it has lost the damping of that shock absorber. The new shock absorber has some kind of power plug and mine didn't. Could that be the reason?

I suspect from the sounds of what you have said, that you may have fitted an AMVAR suspension strut designed for a C6 not a C5 X7. The C5 X7 does not use AMVAR which have electronic actuators on top of each strut. They are not compatible.

Here are pictures of the old and the new shock absorber. Is it possible to have air in the system? because there is no leak of hose

You have the wrong one! - see my last post. The one in the top picture is for a C6 with AMVAR - not fitted to the C5.
