Re: new owner
So the recommended oil is the ubiquitous in America, but virtually unobtainable in Europe, 10/30 but was surprised that it's synthetic, given the age of the car but, of course, it IS the Amsoil recommendation!
Can't fault the filter though, but there's probably a small saving by getting one packaged as NAPA Gold.

There are not a lot of suppliers of parts for 30 year old French cars. One of the better ones (with link to the nearest European model I think) http://www.mister-auto.co.uk/en/renault ... v2085.html . Their French site sometimes has a bigger range of parts for old cars.

Listen with care.........................you will be able to hear an American fall out of a tree with the shock of the prices we pay in Europe for car parts

Re: new owner
How's it going?
Wouldn't like you to think we'd lost interest but it does occur to me that your model specific queries might be better moved to the Renault forum. That's not to say we wouldn't like the odd update on a chat forum from time to time.
Of course there are some sites where that would've been done for you - but we're altogether more relaxed about such things here.

I also put a post in the renault thread, she's running fine....i would like to start with new front end parts and rear shocks asap, but the car runs like new only 100k miles on it, I have read alot of negativity about these cars however I have read that I have one with a very good motor

That is a nice looking car, but the roads look a bit steep!
