P1166 is a problem with the high pressure fuel circuit - when the fuel pressure is above the maximum threshold.

Suspect areas are: Fuel flow regulator, Low pressure fuel circuit, High pressure fuel pump, Electrical harnesses, Connectors.

But this is an old thread and the codes may be slightly different depending on the vehicle and engine management system concerned. So if you have a specific ongoing issue, it might be better to create your own thread.

Read a few posts on here re. C3 picasso faults, noted this post has not been updated for a while...

Thought I'd share my fun and games.

Very similar faults showing and have been for around two years.
Occasionally will not start - starter doesn't turn them switch off and on and starts fine.
Anti pollution fault occasionally.
Cutting out whilst driving..

Started with the fault codes, then to known issues.

DPF cleaned - not a lot of soot there.
Replaced glo plug relay
Replaced engine fuse board (standard connector and board rusted away)
Replaced EGR
Cleaned /replaced earth leads/ points added a couple of extra ones too...
All connectors to sensors cleaned
Battery replaced

Three months without a glitch from the car, then wife driving home from London came to a stop on the M23 and wouldn't start for fifteen mins...

Burning the car is too easy, I NEED to fix this now

Was talking it over with a couple of friends who are ex mechanics, they thought a possibility was the main start relay? No idea where that is.

Fuel pump? Assume that it would flag a specific fault for this?
