This was ours - an '89 19RD - while towing a caravan along the Duoro into Portugal in 1996.
A well-sorted NA 1.9 (GTi full dash, twin fans, expansion tank etc), we miss her a lot. Really silly to have let her go when we acquired the XM in 1998.
Couldn't agree more Dean: a fabulous shape!

have you seen BX prices too! someone has a very clean low miles valver on C&C £23'000, must be a misprint, then there is a twin webber BX sport in the UK for £4k, now I know there is asking on the one hand, and getting on the other but even so, WOW!
I think the front of a MK1 BX has a certain hint of Rover SD1 about it, no bad thing, looks very nice but back when they were on the road I never really liked the MK1 style, now its my favourite, my DTR looked very nice too as does the sport and GTI.

In these days of curves and aero designs, angles, wedges and sharp edges are the new Retro !, it is why I prefer the S1 Xantia front end over the S2 curved intake/headlamp design.

S1 Xantia is my favourite as is the S1 XM, S2's are ok but the planned S3 XM was a monster, truly ugly car.

Not in the flesh, but....

Watched Trainspotting again the other night, in preparation for going to see the sequel. There's a shot of the flat in London Renton is trying to rent out, and I'm pretty sure a BX estate goes by - can only see the lower edge, and it's fleeting! Saddest BX spot ever?

Also saw a BX Hatch getting squashed by a tank on something the boys were watching (You've been framed perhaps) the other day....

along the similar line of above, tuesday last week, took the girls and pooch down the beach, coming back up to the car park couldn't resist a snap of the veg burner, i know am biased, and generally would take an old car over new, but despite being the Oldest in the car park, i still think it looks good! - i would say best looking But, a masseratti quatraporte was also there looking Rather lovely!

a good friend of mine also commented on my BX in the drive the other day about its lines, dont see them much anymore!

But you do have an s1 though Jim. I prefer the s1 also. Especially as it's an activa s1 [emoji4]

Oh yes, very true!

Timmo, I love those yellow fogs on the Xantia... And the numberplate too 8-) I'd keep that plate whatever happens to the car in the future...

Have to admit that I too far prefer the nose on the S1 Xantia - hence why there's an old thread by me where I started pondering how hard it would be to do a swap - which would really puzzle the enthusiasts when they saw it...

I'd love to turn an S2 into an S1 lookalike :)

It's not so hard apparently. Bonnet, slam panel, wings and bumper fromm what I recall when I bent my S1 Activa. I was looking for either S1 or S2 bits to fix it

I was going to say it shouldnt be too tricky a conversion, if you had a rear ended s1 you would be in an ideal position for a conversion!
