Excellent! I shall soon try and see if I can get that camera working again. Going on the image quality it'll be worth a bit of work...mickthemaverick wrote: 08 Jan 2025, 19:45 Thanks for returning my SD card Jim. It actually has 125 pictures on it including some from the South Coast Saunter and this one from another trip I did with SWMBO![]()

Icy! This is a shallow temporary stream that's only really there when the water meadow is in flood, as it currently...
In context:
The stream is deep enough and in existence long enough to warrant a little bridge across it...

A happy fisherman, even though the chubb were elusive... Like me, he was just happy to be out in the fresh, winter sunshine
And happy ducks

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
That fishing picture brings back some great memories, mostly freezing the brass attachments in winter matches fishing for Kings Langley Anglers but there was always the pub with a log fire to warm up in after the 6 hour match!! I have my own now!!

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
I always admire the patience and attention span of a coarse fisherman Mick
I'd last about five minutes tops and be looking for something active to do
Sea fishing off a beach is a different matter; that's full of activity, constant change and energy. I once used to hugely enjoy that but haven't for years now and very unlikely to do so again due to the general unavailability of suitable beaches in the middle of the UK
And no longer having any kit!
I ended up having a good natter with the fisherman in the picture...
That fire looks inviting

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
A very cold run this morning to keep my RED January (Run Every Day in January) challenge going
Allegedly, it was -6 degrees out there

Appropriately, I saw a big deep-red moon over Bury Field Common
It's not come out very well in the picture although it looked absolutely awesome
I'm sure my proper grown-up camera would have done better but I really can't run with it

A real 'Winter Wonderland' at parkrun today
I was on marshalling and piccy-taking duty...
The common was looking spectacular in the frosty air...
Although cold, it was a very enjoyable morning and great fun

Just been for a pleasant walk out of town.
The moon just visible betwen the power lines.
Still quite frozen in the shade.

Although it looks like this was taken in the late afternoon, it was actually at 10.30 this morning. A heavy mist on the low ground.
And some Belted Galloways - and a young 'un - seen on the same walk.

Yes, very little light this morning even though it looked fairly bright... But then eyes are very good at compensating...bobins wrote: 12 Jan 2025, 13:07 Although it looks like this was taken in the late afternoon, it was actually at 10.30 this morning.
