You can see it wasn't quite full then - it's a bit egg-shaped!
The moon is tricky to photograph because it's so much brighter than the surrounding sky, and the camera light meter typically averages between the 2. Typically you need to underexpose by 2 or 3 stops to get some detail to show.

My wife found this little cutie on the paving (my photo) - probably cold as it wasn't able to do much to show it's displeasure apart from poking out it's oversize tongue. About a handspan nose to tail.

No the true frilled-neck lizards are a tropical beast. We get bearded dragons, which can puff up a prickly-looking ruff around their necks (which as kids we used to call "frilly lizards"), but the true frill-necks seem to be a one-off with their fantastic cape.
Re the Blue-tongue - we reckon he'd probably just come out of hibernation, as he was pretty cranky, as well as being sluggish.
I put him in the sun to warm up, but kept teasing him with a stick, trying to get the perfect shot of that tongue. He/she grabbed the stick, then exhibited behaviour I thought was strictly a crocodile thing - he did the crocodile roll!!
Here he/she is mid-roll - as long as I held the stick and provided some resistance the lizard would roll. If I let go then the lizard would relax.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Just saw out the back someone launch a Chinese sky lantern. Not seen one before, quite spectacular and their kids seemed to appreciate it.
My photo's were completely rubbish though, all happened too quickly and the SLR tried to use the flash, had to keep the popup flash unit closed which I suspect I will regret.

Absolutely perfect Peter, and thats going Straight in the "To Autumn" gallery. Totally evocative of the season.

Other lines from the poem to inspire contributions.
"Mellow Fruitfulness", "To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees","plump the hazel shells with a sweet kernel",
"later flowers for the bees until they think warm days will never cease", "While barred clouds bloom the soft-dying day and touch the stubble-plains with rosy hue" , "The red-breast whistles from a garden-croft", "and gathering swallows twitter in the skies."

A slight correction needed there, Neil. It's not called twitter anymore, it's now referred to as XNewcastleFalcon wrote: 20 Sep 2024, 10:23 , "The red-breast whistles from a garden-croft", "and gathering swallows twitter in the skies."

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Those lanterns have become a bit controversial of late, I believe it was because a cheap thin bit of mild steel rod was used for the (very minimal) frame of the thing was a potential hazard for cattle?? They were being re-engineered to remove / substitute the problem steel bit I think, so hopefully I am talking old news.
I've had a go with them many years ago, they are a really interesting, simple thing that works well. Works best with a lovely cold crisp day - just the sort of days that'll soon be upon us! Then the temperature differential between inside the hot air balloon and the cool air is more pronounced, bit of thermal buoyancy and off you go!
I might try and get some, I'm sure my boys would be interested.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Should have had one myself. It would have been my wife's 72nd birthday.
I'm sure your kids will love them.
They all say that they are all biodegradable now.
I was wondering what the 'fuel block' was. Possibly the now banned 'solid meths' maybe?
