Of course someone could have thrown a grille on the back seat from an Aston Martin DB5 before it went into the crusher

Better view of that bevel gear. Looks like it is sturdy enough to be a diff component.

That reminds me that in the 1970s I saw a Gogomobil with an oversized winder key mounted on the boot, driven by a geared down motor so that it turned as the car drove along.

Re: Whatsthisthen?.new one to try
Here's an incorrect guess....a Hyundai Equus.....and its own special logo which is sort of similar

The litttle known, but one of the Chinese "big four" car makers Changan Automobile, with an R&D presence in Birmingham also have a similar logo to our whatsthisthen?

Here's one of their interiors

Regards Neil

Designed by Pininfarina and made in Vietnam! Never would have got it without that hint Gibbo, just couldn't frame a google search to come up with the answer.

A VietNamese car? Surely not, well I never saw any evidence of such when driving from Hanoi to Saigon last year - although do recall what appeared to be twin Kia & Hyundai factories.

Re: Whatsthisthen?.new one to try
The car is from Vietnam's only carmaker VinFast and a start-up at that, launched at the Paris Motor Show with the help of David Beckham
Regards Neilhttps://www.telegraph.co.uk/cars/news/d ... otor-show/
With the cars due to be delivered to Vietnamese motorists from September 2019, Le Thi Thu Thuy acknowledged the short timescale to which they were working. Vingroup launched the project just over a year ago and has already built a sprawling 355-hectare factory in Northern Vietnam (Hai Phong City) capable of producing a rumoured 250,000 cars per year.
VinFast are clearly aware of the investment required to build a successful automotive business completely from scratch, and are said to have earmarked $3.5 billion (£2.7 billion) to get things off the ground.
