Sorry Mick, I've been out and about half the day so not online till now - I'll check my work calendar tomorrow morning to confirm I can squeak a day off in. Sorry to be slow coach confirming! :)

If I've not given clarity by dinnertime, chase me up, will try my best to remember

As you're going to be in Coleford Mick here are a few of places of interest:

https://www.perrygrove.co.uk/
https://clearwellcaves.com/
Perrygrove and Puzzlewood are just outside the town, Clearwell caves just a mile away..

Whoops, over promised and under delivered again there didn't I!

Ok, I've now, finally, booked a half day off on the 14th. I work (when in the office rather than WFH) in Altrincham, so St. Bart is about half an hour away along the M56. So if I get away at 12:00, should be ok for eating say 12:45, how does that sound?

OK with me. Just trying to remember where you'll be coming from in Wales before me to see which of the two venues I suggested would be best. I suspect St Barts as you're just minutes away from the end of the M56.

OK. Checked and I see that your route plan is from Flint so St Barts fits in perfectly.

EDIT

Are you still planning on going to Liverpool Mick? I was led astray by the mention of the M56.

In fact having visited Liverpool on our September Stroll we will probably head from lunch on to Stockport via Runcorn and Widnes. I spent some time working on the Runcorn end of ICI's ethylene pipeline in the 80s so I may take the opportunity to show Bob some memories of my leisuretime in that area!! So can we make the statement to meet at the St Barts cafe for lunch for 12.45 on Wednesday 14th a confirmed arrangement? I would appreciate a precise location from postcode or Grid reference or even 'what three words' if possible please Paul :-D

I think it's this one Mick:

St Bartholomew's Church, Old Sealand Rd, Sealand, Chester CH5 2LQ

I'm not fully up to speed with What 3 Words, but putting the post code in (from Google) it amusingly states:

///shocking.park.magically

Which sounds like a good excuse to leave your vehicle somewhere inadvisable! :)

Yes, that's the place. And 12:45 is fine. As the place closes at 2:00 if you could make it more towards 12:30 that would be good though. Any problems phone me. Or if you think you're going to be a bit early.

If you're coming along the A 548 from Flint then I would suggest that you continue over the Flintshire bridge to avoid going through Connah's Quay and Queensferry. There's nothing really to commend the old road and that new bridge is really quite beautiful.

Mick, I still have you on my phone with a mobile number ending 54. Is it still the same? My mobile ends in 07 for confirmation.

OK thanks Paul I'll amend our route map accordingly. Yes my number is still the same but I'm afraid I have lost yours in a phone change in 2022 which involved a rebuild of my contacts. Perhaps you could PM it please? :-D

Decided to go there for lunch today. This is the menu and we had the small breakfast.
