With a Tuesday famine on Picture(s) of the Day, and yours the only image so far today, POTD is the perfect home for your photos of the Ami Ryan.

Left hand drive, passenger door opens in the usual direction, drivers door opens 'suicide' style and the windows flip not wind downs....

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Re forum content, I think the lack of interest in DIY is the main cause not only due to the difficulty of working on modern cars but most people seem to have the readies to have the work done.
Most of the forums are declining now and I think this one is doing better than most, one or two others that were very active are sending me reminders that they are still there. Specialist forums like the XM forum are suffering even more due to the lack of people running them now and relatively few in exitance left, same applies to the 406 forum.
I can send you some farming pictures.

I hold my hands up to doing very little on my cars now but entrust it to an excellent mechanic instead.
If I can't do it either sitting in the car or standing on my hind legs it gets farmed out.
Fortunately very little has been required since ditching the C5.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
I have my useful ramp I made about 50 years ago, I couldn't manage without it. It gives just the right height to work on brakes/suspension etc standing but I was having difficulty getting underneath but I have solved that problem with an old office chair, set at its lowest position I can sit on it and whizz under the car, right height and comfortable.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Almost time for the Falcon Original photo of the month award.
Two categories
The Random Selection
...and this will go to whichever original photo is nearest to the random post number selected. In the event of a tie the first posted of equal contenders will win.
The Falcon selection
This will be chosen from all original photo's posted in the month including my own.
Might as well do it now, after all its another blank day for originals on POTD.

My choice for photo of the month.Ironic perhaps that it could be seen as a self portrait as there was no photographer present at the time!

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

POTD Monthly Awards...
The random selection
(136 of 141) was the latest one of mine
The Tractor

The Falcon Award
Using pure personal bias for the unusual Jim gets the award for the second month running, but some excellent photos from all contributors, and I would mention Alec's Albatross as being a superb photo and perhaps a bit disappointing not to get the Falcon award in preference to a luminous dog collar on wet tarmac

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Superb texture, contrast of colours, contrast of light, and clear definition across the image, but most of all, seeing the picture and stopping to click the shutter swung it for the Falcon Award

I too was honoured by providing the set up to allow that blackbird to take its own close up..thanks Mick.
..but now its a new month...February2024 has passed and its awards are done and dusted.
March awaits at least 31 daily contenders a minimum of one each day. If you haven't joined in before please do, and occasional entrants become regular entrants, and regular entrants...keep up the good work.
As ever no threshhold of photographic excellence is required, participation is always the most important.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Here's my offerings for today
One corner of the copse on Bury Field Common this morning...
Spot the new foliage beginning to appear on some of the shrubbery and the triangular bird (or is it a bat?) box
Spring is approaching. The grass is greening up and showing strong growth too...
My feet, taken nearby
It's still very, very wet and muddy which, in my world, makes for delicious running conditions
Wettest February on record allegedly... I can believe that...

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
I have upgraded my phone to a 5g model and with it came 3 camera lenses, I have just tried an experiment by holding the phone still against the window and taking a shot with each camera, here are the results:
Interestingly I can't see me using the 'standard' lens much as I suspect the others will be more suited to my subjects!! We'll see!!
