It is the possible running out of range with no guaranteed charging point that is the main issue regardless of how many miles it takes to reach that position from charged. Ignoring the electrical supply issues and logistics for a moment I believe that if every current filling station had all the pumps fitted with charging points working on a universal use and pay system, the same as for current fuels then the so called 'range anxiety would disappear. The reaction to the 'charge required' light would be the same as the current fuel guage heading into the red. Who has range anxiety in current vehicles?
So the real main limitation to Bevs in my view is our inability to provide sufficient charge points, all being fed with ample green power, to make it available on every existing forecourt. It is that very limitation that makes people want more range to hopefully allow them to charge overnight, carry out the day's motoring and get home again to recharge! If charging was available in minutes at every current outlet 'range anxiety' would no longer exist!
It seems to me that the industry is approaching the problem from the wrong direction. Forget the continuous strive for more range with bigger and bigger batteries and concentrate on smaller, lighter batteries that may only give 100 miles range but can recharge in 10 mins or less and have chargers on every current refuelling site!!

This is what happens when the cold keeps you stuck on the sofa with nothing to watch!!
