Good work Husky! I had a play with the ones that came off the grey 308 SW (had advisory for "light misting of oil") but as it turned out they were knackered!

I'll ping up a YouTube link if you want to see me waffling and messing about! :)

The car feels better , noticed the difference right away soon as I pulled off the drive, them shocks in your video Matt , they needed replacing, always one side worse than the other ive noticed this with almost every car I've done over the years

Ive seen several sets of the 208 alloy wheels for sale and there is something they all seem to share , cracking tires , is this a fault? Should people with these be concerned?

Next thing , new set of wheel trims the old ones on it are just about done .
The top bolt size was a 16mm nut think the bolt head was 17, the lower was E16mm pain in the but location a hole in the trailing arm section and feel your way for the bolt , I dropped the bolt after it was fully out so had to fish it out with a small magnet on the end of a small grabber, did the job a treat.

Shonky, unloved 208 finally wheeled into the scrap yard and broken for spares = not usually recipe for high quality tyres to be fitted. :-D
Cars that are "circling the plughole" are quite often limped along on a shoe string, so ancient (part worns?) tyres not unusual.

I'd treat any tyres, unless specifically advertised as being in good condition, as part of a set of scrap wheels, to very likely need replacing.

I quite like the style of those 15" 208 alloys, I wasn't sure if they'd fit on the (grey, 2011) 308 (offset is fine, just whether 15" would clear the front brakes) so went for 16" 308 alloys instead
(still a downsize from it's 17" original fitment)

I kinda like the 208 alloys I was considering getting a set but myself did think about the clearance , years ago I fitted a set of dog legs on an escort only to be scared to death by the noise I didn't know what it was till I then learned you needed spacers lol, I was 18. Ive still got the spacers now

Wheels baffle the hell out of me, all the different specs. I just stick with what is on and don't care about them.
The only time I didn't was when I bought a replacement C5 and took the ones from the old one onto the new one as they were easier to clean.

Had a nasty buckled wheel several years ago , how on earth it passed the mot like it with the previous owner , I took it off soon as I got it replaced with a better one , i really don't know how the other owner drove it like it it was very noticeable

Love that expression :) Very descriptive!

I must admit, I quite like the 208 - as 'moderns' go....

Oh yes I'd avoid the wet belts too (which is a shame as engine performance wise they are lovely! Raspy three cylinder noise is very nice, turbo assisted performance is excellent. I've only experienced this engine in a big C4 Grand Picasso, but it was surprisingly effective in such a big car!) but the ownership prospect scares me off!

Did the 208 get the 1.6 HDi, of just the 1.4 HDi? My father in law has the 1.4 in his (driving instructor) 208. Seems fine.

But generally, yes I quite like the 208 too. Shame there's no 208 SW (Sadly never going to happen since the 2008 exists. No I am completely uninterested in anything wearing the fashionable SUV fat suit :( )

I was researching the wet belt v dry regarding the 208 and it came back there's a 1.6 aswell as the 1.4, I was sceptical about a 1.6 but here's the proof

Suv no no , trying to park in a hospital carpark today 8 sun cars all taking up 2 spaces , now that really did get my blood boiling , one half bay was a disabled bay , to which ,because I looked at the offending parker , she snapped at me shouting I park this way because my friend is pregnant, I replied I thought pregnancy was a condition not an illnesses, then went about my way to the appointment time after I parked properly in the correct space .

Many people these days are so 'entitled'. I call it selfish and ignorant. Sadly, I see it all the time  The ongoing enshittification of the UK

This festive season has seen lots of 'attitude' out in force...
