I just need to order the replacement Radio and steering wheel, and the bits for the cruise control and then it's done.

That would explain me not being able to do anything with them. So a 15 year old car with no faults......... can't get better than that

Have you a decent scrapyard near you? I got a replacement radio and the cruise control stalk for mine (when they had a suitable car in) for £25 the lot from the scrapyard near me. You will need to code the radio in using a Lexia, otherwise you will get an annoying "BEEP!" every three seconds or so.

Re: It's been a while (C5 Adventure)
We have some scrap yards by us but when I rang them they didn't have a C5 in, I've found the bits I need on Fleabay for less than £100 so I'll just do it the easy way.
Somebody did promise me a radio but it's not materialised, so I've got my eye on a couple.

I got my stalk off a Xsara Picasso of similar age. It may be that the radio from such a vehicle would also go into the C5.

Re: It's been a while (C5 Adventure)
Well, the gremlins arrived last night. Driving home from work and the Auto Lights when off......... I pulled over and switched the car off and switched it back on but nothing, so I switched the lights on normally and everything is fine.
I've looked in the handbook this morning and there's no fuse for the auto lights or any of the sensors......... so I'm pondering my best course of action.....

Leave it a couple of days and they will most likely work again.

That was the way with my Scenic. The auto wipers and headlights were great when they worked but are remembered as a hindrance and a pain in the butt. It was up to them when they worked and whenever I took the time to investigate they would be fine.

And it's not only old Citroens... I have equally bizarre happenings of an electrical nature on the Pug... Especially the central locking - it only works when it's in the mood to...

I never used the auto wipers on any of my 2 c5. They had an absolute mind of their own, very slight drizzle and them going 20 to the dozen, heavy rain and them on intermittent. So far not tried them on the 407 yet.

My Renaults were crazy, sometimes bright Sunlight would initiate full speed as would driving through a tunnel.

I've changed the radio/CD player today (£14 off ebay) and the pitted Steering Wheel for a Leather one off a facelift (£14 off ebay), blooming hell what a difference the steering wheel makes, next jobs are the interior mirror and cruise control.
