Bluetooth issue

so i have a Citroen jumpy 2012 and i cant get the Bluetooth to connect to my phone if it has Bluetooth

Ok, so you missed the '7' out of your VIN, but I have it now.

So the reason you have no Bluetooth is that your RD4 system does not have Bluetooth, neither does it have the optional hands free add on pack that could be ordered when new.

So you'll have to make do with something like an aftermarket Bluetooth transmitter that operates via a spare FM radio frequency. There are plenty on amazon that are quite cheap and work via your mobile phone to the transmitter, which then sends out an FM signal to your RD4.

Something like this:

Just be careful - as the RD4 is not just your radio. It is the interface between you and the vehicle's options. If you replace the radio, you will lose functionality like the clock, trip computer, ability to turn on or off certain functions etc.

I suggest you stick to something simple like the above kit as you can easily wire it in yourself and you won't interfere with the RD4's functionality.

Hi yes i have asked if its possible to change the radio but surely there must be a way of changing radio in a Citroen jumpy 2012 as the system is does not have Bluetooth or hands free possibilities , i have checked on you tube and there seems to be systems and able to put even screens in the palce but as the chap mentioed yesterday it effects the RD$ so what if is there has anyone change this i will be honest i know it effects the stalk controls but i dont use that anyway so please can you let me know or perhaps post a link on here for compatible radios thanks in advance

Please don't create multiple posts for the same issue, it causes duplication of answers. I've moved this post to the original thread.

To follow on from my answer provided above, I didn't say it was impossible to do, I was just spelling out the consequences of replacing the RD4. This is not the place though to ask about radios - you need to get some advice from a car audio place or even dare I say it Halfords or a place like that who will no doubt have kits on display and will be able to advise.

You may likely need a compatible wiring harness to maintain steering wheel controls - but these are all questions you need to put to a a car audio specialist as we can't answer for the different manufacturers' systems.

I've provided a non-invasive approach using aftermarket add-on solutions that retains the original functions without butchering the vehicle, but of course you can replace the whole thing if required, as long as you understand the outcome.

I have just clicked on the link above and I can't see anywhere that says it transmits to an FM channel. I may wrong I have once before.

But, I think this is the best answer, full Bluetooth/aux input for less than £20, perfect.

Bad example - there are loads of these that all work differently Stu, the one I think I linked to above works via the AUX changer.

This one is the FM transmitter type that I should of linked to:

For £20 has to be worth a pop. Hands free calls and a music player and charger - what more could you want?

I have a 2014 Jumpy and I'm planning to replace the radio by a 2 inch model. I've removed the old radio and no problems seem to occur.
I've tested my new radio 'double inch) which seems to work fine. Due to a power issue at this moment I've removed it again until this problem has been sorted out.

I do realize I might miss some functionality at this moment (probably clock setting only). I'm not sure about any however. But the car is not complaining so I guess I can go ahead.
Have you opted to drive your Jumpy for a couple weeks without any radio at all? If that works fine, I guess you can consider replacing the existing radio.

An alternative I have in my mind is to install the old radio in the overhead storage (middle section). In parallel in other words without any speakers and without the antenna. This way the can bus wires would be properly terminated and if required I can use the radio to alter some settings. Only 5 wires (in my case) require to be extended.
