peugeot 306 rough running

Hi, my peugeot 306 is running rough when warm. when cold , it runs fine, anyone any ideas where to start? cheers Terry.

You can look for anything obvious around the engine but a diagnostic is needed to check for anything else. Also provide details of your car - year, engine and if you get any fault codes the VIN will help.

Terry, do indeed point a Lexia at it and do a diagnostic on the engine ECU as Paul advises..

Potential causes are a duff coolant temperature sensor or a duff oxygen sensor but without a Lexia session you're staggering around in the dark...

Has the fuel consumption significantly risen? Does the exhaust smell a bit rich and of petrol fumes?

Give the Coolant Temperature Sensor a try Terry, they're not expensive and hopefully it'll resolve the issue.. It's my hot favourite to be the cause... (no pun intended ;) :lol:)

there are three sensors, one blue, one green, one brown, wondering which of the three, the coolant temperature sensor is? cheers Terry.

The green one sir! Blue is for the gauge/overheat/engine cooked light and the brown one is the A/C Bitron Sensor...
