can 207 gear cables be adjusted?

since my 207 had its gearbox out for a new clutch arm, the gear selection hasnt been as good, it feels like pushing the lever into 3rd isnt moving the linkage far enough, it also feels a little similar in first as well but not as much.

is there any adjustment I can make anywhere?

Hydraulic clutch need bleeding ? If this can be ruled out they say you cant adjust the gear link cables , you can as i found out.
Although a different car to mine i belive the 207 uses cables like many cars in the french car range. Other cars too.

Pop the hood, look at the cables that connect to the rods ontop of the gear box. Now you need to get 4th gear selected when done or as best as you can,go back and this is what i did to my car. The balljoint on your left looking down on gearbox with screwdriver pop out the yellow locking tab till its almost out then pushed the arm its connected to fully back with long screwdriver while with the other hand push the yellow locking tab back down this should then line the gears back up and when i did this it made a click sound which was the gears selecting into 4th properly, then push the yellow tab back home & that should be it , it was for me.

Just been digging around , if your cables are the straight though none adjusting type , your have to buy a new set. Yours might be fully stretched by normal wear & tear check ebay , hope you get it sorted.

thanks, I will have a look soon, car has just gone off to have a panel repaired where a half brick hit it, when its back I will do doing a small service so I will have a look while I am in there.
