Thanks Marc
I will order the removal keys and the unit i linked to.
Cannot remember seeing the a steering wheel control module but guess thats the ECU at the top of the steering column but nothing showing up on Global Tests.
I assume i should be able to code the unit to the car using Diagbox with some step by step instructions from a very friendly chap

Re: I Phone issues with MyWay / WIPNAV
Some sellers will code it to your VIN, but if not, it can be done with Diagbox easily enough. BUT... make sure before removing the original head unit that you make a note of all the configuration screens of the RNEG, because we do not know which vehicle this has come from and may have retained previous configuration that could be different to your car - especially if was from a Peugeot.

Re: I Phone issues with MyWay / WIPNAV
Thanks for that info Marc, which i am sure you realise will mean me asking more questions
I was about to buy the one in the link above but then I had a look and found This.
Only checking that it the correct part as a little confused by it stating 2011 hand written and the label says 2013 and both part numbers are different.
Was thinking it looks in better condition and is half the price.

Re: I Phone issues with MyWay / WIPNAV
It should be fine Colin. Getting one from a Citroen-badged Vehicle is better than from a Peugeot as it will likely already be set up with at least some of the correct paramaters. But will still need VIN coding and the configuration checking.

Re: I Phone issues with MyWay / WIPNAV
No worries - just remember what I said before about copying or screen-shotting existing Head Unit configuration.
I can probably help with most of the parameters, but I always recommend keeping a note of what you had before as a guide.

Re: I Phone issues with MyWay / WIPNAV
No rush for this Marc as the head unit replacement is due on Monday and i am away the following weekend so will probably be looking at swapping the units over on Monday 1st as i have that day off.
If you could give me some tips on how to get to the config menu and what parameters i am looking for i may get chance this weekend to have a trial run but no rush, the car has an MOT booked tomorrow @ 11:30 so depending on result things could change.
Also the coding to the Vehicle is something i will need to do as the supplier does not offer this service.
You have my email if that route is easier for you but again no real rush SWMBO can stew for a while, may be good for her to have a bit of patience

Re: I Phone issues with MyWay / WIPNAV
Unfortunately I can't direct you specifically Colin, as I don't have the RNEG Telematics system and can't use my current Diagbox version with my latest vehicle as it's too new and needs a later DB version. I'm not bothering with that either at present, as anything dodgy will be going direct to the dealer to sort under warranty, so I can't guide you on the specific menus I'm afraid, but can help you with the configuration parameter checks.

Re: I Phone issues with MyWay / WIPNAV
Thanks Marc
I assume i need to do a Global test then go into the RNEG ECU and click on repair to access the section where parameters etc will be accessed.
I guess this will also be the same section where i can code the head unit to the vehicle.
Head unit arrived this morning so going to try tomorrow to see if i can get the current parameters copied/ screenshot taken so i can reset the replacement unit to those.

Yes, just look for the configuration - manual configuration options. Then you can page down for each screen and take a snapshot.

Re: I Phone issues with MyWay / WIPNAV
Thanks Marc will have a look tomorrow.
A quick question you mentioned about the quadlock needing to be removed first and connected last, i guess this is an obvious plug
Oh forgot to say the C5 passed its mot with an advisory of n/s wiper blade needs replacing
Colin

Re: I Phone issues with MyWay / WIPNAV
Good news on the pass Colin - a miniscule advisory in the grand scheme of X7s!
Quadlock - it's the largest connector with the swing over arm that houses all the other wiring connector blocks. It's because this has the power feed and you don't want any residual current affecting the screen connections as the MFD is über sensitive, so is always removed first and re-attached last.

Re: I Phone issues with MyWay / WIPNAV
These are the pictures that I have taken from the configuration menu's i could find of the current head unit.
That's all the info needed.
On the last picture the only thing that seems odd is that the date of manufacture or that intended to be like that.
Pretty sure i was in the right menu as it also allows me to put the Vin number in to code the unit to the car. That's all the info needed.

That's not uncommon Colin. That's great, I should be able to get anything else from the VIN
