Thoroughly enjoyed all four episodes of "Carry on Glamping" on Channel 4 Following Johnny Vegas and Bev Dixon through the trials and tribulation of Setting up a Glamping field with several old vehicles sourced and converted.

WARNING : Random thread digression......

Towards the end of that TV programme there were a couple of chaps unflattening a sheet of metal using an English Wheel in the Alvis workshop. Those of you familiar with The Repair Shop will know of Dominic Chinea - the beardy bloke relegated to working on metal things outside in the open barn. He's got his own workshop elsewhere and one of his tools is his Edwards English Wheel, but he hankered after a Ranalah English Wheel, but couldn't get hold of one for love nor money...... so he's just bought the Ranalah company name and now intends to get hold of one on loan so he can get some moulds done and then put them back into production. Hurrah !

Looks like my TV repertoire can get DAVE and watch it live but not Dave + 1. Looking at the episode guide looks like it covers more than just electrics

That's a fairly good description but it missed out the fact that the program began with James driving his own BMW i3 went right through the development including Hyundai IX35 fuel cell car and ended up back with the i3. Very enjoyable hour's viewing!!

Watched the first bit so far with his I3. His I3 was one of the early ones and was an I3REX ie it has a range extender small petrol engine. There are 2 Flaps on the side one for petrol one for the plug in. I've spoken to charging point buddies with the I3 Rex very happy with it, and hardly ever put petrol in it. Not sure if the I3 REx is still available.

It isnt, increasing Battery range for the I3 meant BMW Ditched it in 2019

It's possible that decision to kill the REx versions was made after the introduction of the 44.2 kWh battery, when the feedback encouraged BMW to go all-electric only. The decision may be WLTP based, too.
