206 19 N/A D

Evening all, just wondered if anyone has seen this issue before and knows of the likely culprits.
My mate's son's car, a 2001 206 with the N/A 1.9 lump is difficult to start if parked on a hill nose up. Ingress of air causing the fuel to leak back to the tank? He's changed the fuel filter / primer block and it persists. He told me it will start if primed while cranking and he has noticed air coming from the filter housing when doing this but this was a 2 man job. I've told him he can achieve the same thing on his own by leaving the ignition in on and priming, thus opening the fuel solenoid, to help short term.
One possible solution would be to fit a non return valve in line but, although a good one, it's a bodge.
I haven't had chance to have a look properly yet but he assures me there are no leaks visible anywhere.
Just wondered if there are any 'weak' areas in the fuel lines and if someone else has seen this issue on this car?

Could it be the leak off pipes? - they harden with the heat and crack, the end plug can come out too.
Has been the culprit in similar cases in the past.

Cheers Steve, I remember my brother had the same problem with a SAAB years ago. He had to park that nose down at night. I'll pass it on.

It's usually caused by the valves in the filter head leaking, one of these could be the easy answer.

Cheers Gibbo, I'll check the leakoffs and if they seem OK, I'll use the 'good bodge' method. Presumably placed just before the filter?
