So today I discovered even the brake pipe unions are weird on Citroens!
The rear brakes on my Xantia squeel very loudly due to a bad case of aluminium corrosion on the rear calipers.
Ive read several posts about this caliper corrosion problem and how to deal with it. However none seem to mention that its is infact pretty difficult to clean off the corrosion with the brake pipe still attached.
On removing the brake pipes from the calipers I discovered the rubber seal/tube. Is it ok to NOT replace these rubber pieces and just refit the pipes?
I have done and there doesn't seem to be any leaks.

should be fine, just do a check and wipe VERY clean before re-seating, store them in a jar with clean LHM.

Where do you buy these seals from? Are they different seals on the brake lines to the suspension lines?

Re: Xantia brake pipe to caliper rubber seal
The rubber hydraulic seals for Citroen pipework are difficult to find on Parts.
Actually appear as "Pipe Brackets"...
- items #11, #12#, #13
Best to check with Citroen parts counter exactly which one for your brake caliper.
Annoyingly, not shown on the brake pipework parts diagram either.
IIRC, these seals are available separately (as well as in packs).
Special rubber. Cheap enough.
