Xantia ECU transplant, immobilizer workaround

Hi

I've been away from my Xantias for 14 months, and upon arriving home I realize that I have forgotten the immobilizer code for one of them.

I have three Xantias, and one of them is a donor, and as luck would have it, I can remember the code for it. The idea I have, should my memory not return to form, is to replace the ECU in the car, with the one from the donor car. But before I do so, I have a couple of questions.

1. Is the immobilizer code stored in the ECU, or is there some other part I have to switch over?
2. All my Xantias are Serie 1. Would I need to change anything but the ECU?
3. Last but not least, where is the ECU located?

For a petrol engine Xantia, (or a 2.1TD) the code is stored in the engine ECU which is in the box behind the RH headlamp. For a 1.9 diesel engine, the code is stored in the diesel pump.

To interchange the ECU, the donor and recipient must have the same model of engine (and generally speaking) the part number on the ECUs should match.

For a 1.9 TD engine, the normal thing to do is to de-armour the pump and remove the immobiliser (but not an easy task).

Thans for a swift answer. It is a 1.9TD, so interchanging the ECU would not help?

De armouring the pump, basically just removing the shield and supplying 12v to the solenoid, like in this video?
