I’m on my second one. Had it done under warranty a few years ago. But given the prices of originals I wouldn’t be surprised it has been replaced by an aftermarket one.

Yes, I wouldn’t be surprised!

Marc, would you have the part number for “O” ring number 8 in Table A that you posted on page 1 of this thread.

Thank you.

Update.

Condenser turned up from the factors and after comparing with the one removed (Valeo) it seemed a perfect fit in both form and function with no fettling required for fitting. Fitted new O rings to bottom pipe (Thanks Marc) and transferred over the pressure sensor as Citroën wanted £132 for a new one 😳.
We then vacuumed the system and the vacuum held perfectly for an hour. We then charged the system with 530 grams of R134a and fired it up. Within a minute icy cold air flowed which continued during an extended test drive.

Now the burning question:- Why does my particular engine type only require 530 grams but the other 2 Ltr Hdi engines require 630 grams? Can anybody shed any light on this puzzle? 🤔

Thank you. 😃

So you filled up with 5 more Grams than recommended! Maybe she'll let you off on that one...

Regarding capacities - it's not about engine size. The DS5 is 450 regardless of engine, the X7 Euro 4 engines except the DW10BTED4 are 625, including the 2.7 and 3.0 engines, but the C4 Picasso is 450 for manual A/C on all models and 675 for those with additional A/C (for rear passengers like the Grande Picasso for example.

So it's down to the Euro standards and specific models I think.

That’s interesting. Does the Grand Picasso have two evaporators?

Hmmmm. It doesn’t seem as cold on 530 grams, but looking at the pictures below......
29°C outside and 7.5°C coming from the vents, a loss of 21.5°C across the evaporated. Not too shabby! :-D

No, but they can be different thicknesses and sizes.
