Remote-hosted Avatars no longer supported

With the update today to phpBB 3.2.7, support for remotely hosted avatars has been dropped. This is apparently due to a security issue (I am not responsible).

Users now have a choice of:
  • A locally uploaded avatar
  • A remote avatar hosted on Gravatar
  • No avatar.

I can't see any reason why anyone would want to use a remotely hosted Avatar these days, but sounds a sensible solution given the risks.

One hosted on Flickr!, Imgur, Google Photos, Dropbox etc.
