Here's another interesting instrument for you Neil.

Particularly liked because it is Swedish :)

The Du Xian Qin solo - somewhat randomly - reminds me of this by Pat Metheny.....

And the best one of all -

Mainly as I found it at the time I was reading Iain M Banks' "Hydrogen Sonata" so it resonates* with me :)

IIRC, that Wintergarten video took weeks, if not months, to put together

As it is December 13th, it's Luciadagen:

And not a mention in the Swedish newspapers - they usually go bananas about it.

The Pickled Egg Jukebox likes to go back to the originals where possible, and this is as close as it gets on you-tube.

An old greek tune, this version recorded by Tetos Dimitriades is from 1930 ish.

Speed it up a bit, and you might get its modern surfing-song treatment in one of the iconic movies of the 1990's.

Few pages back, I posted this probably for the 4th or 5th time in the history of the thread.

Yes Gary Moore and Phil Lynott on the Old Grey Whistle Test doing a superb bluesy version of "Dont Believe a Word", and then it just explodes. Shame the clip misses Anne Nightingale's reaction at the end. It was sort of what on earth just happened....wow!

Here's the link, and as Bobins commented play it loud!
