Hi All
Just had a new passanger side strut fitted and when i got car back noticed that the noise that the suspension pump had changed from what i was us to.
Could this be trapped air or is it signs of something more sinister .

ooohhh - well that could be several things.
I don't know where you had the work done - was it a main Citroen dealer?
It may be a matter of needing the system bleeding again - they should of done this for you as part of the strut replacement, but there you go. You can do this yourself:
Usual procedure: Engine running, raise to high, then lower fully, then 10 lock to lock SLOW turns, check LDS level and then wait 2-5 minutes for tank to degas and any fizz to clear. I raised mine to high again and lowered it then performed another 5 or so SLOW lock to lock turns and let any remaining fizz disappear.
See my post here for pics:

LDS should be checked on LOWEST suspension setting and the levels should be between the marks:
So you may have some air in the steering as the same LDS fluid feeds the Power Steering system.
Keep an eye on it, but make sure the fluid is at the right level.

Thanks GiveMeABreak you were spot on.
Did the bleeding instructions and the pump quietened down.
The work was not done at a main dealer but at a citroen specialist who i have used before.
I asked him and he did bleed it but looks like there may have been some air still trapped in system.
Intrestingly though was quoted £270+vat for strut from citroen but got a new one from Poland on Ebay in 3 days for £180 delivered.
It was still sealed in its original cardboard box and sealed in 2 plastic bags within the box.
Just got to repair my high level break light and rear washer pipe now and all jobs done.

Glad you sorted, it, but at least you know how to do it I’m future now.
Yes I also replaced my strut recently -the right hand one and bought mine from apoland too. Was an original and about £140 less than the dealer.
