Part number look up, please.

Post by Gibbo2286 »

I need a heater blower resistor for my C5, ordered one from an Ebay supplier, got the wrong one despite it being right according to the listing for my reg number.

Supplier is asking for the oem part number.

Slightly complex...

6441 T6

01
HEATER MOTOR CONTROL MODULE
SEE A

A)FOR VEHICLES EARLIER THAN 02/04/04 CUT HARNESS
AND USE ADAPTER + BOLT

Yous is 3rd July 2003, so this applies. You should get the resistor plus a length of cable - you need to cut the old one off and solder the new one on.

Thank Richard, I did wonder if that would be the case.

If it is the same as this one:
blower module.jpg
I have had three, one from the dealer, two from eBay, (China).

Last one still running fine, £20, no adaptions required, other than the plug I chewed up replacing it - had been bodged before I got the car and the wires caught fire melting the plug.

That's the same as the one from Ebay, the original one has a green block of ceramic where the ali fins are on that and the connections are a different shape.
Similar to this Ford one.

Odd that there are no heatsink fins - they get very hot.
I burned myself retrieving mine when it fell out of the ducting - it wasn't fitted properly, screws hadn't been replaced.
Dropped under the clutch pedal which made for an interesting moment or two.

I'd guess not, seems it changed early 2004.

Struggling a bit, the supplier seems unable to understand and has now offered me the same part again from Ebay France.

Ebay supplier now says "Return it." and supplies a China address.

I've been on to Ebay and they've refunded, say he misrepresented his location as UK.

Re: Part number look up, please. still struggling

I'm still stuck on this, nobody seems to have the right part or a later part with mod. There's a used one on Ebay from Lithuania that looks as though it's been buried in a pit for a long time.
This is the offending part.

I've mentioned these people before although I've not used their services. They sell repaired units, or repair your unit, for various cars.
