CCC East Midland Group Meet - Burghley House 17th April 2011

As you may or may not know this Sunday is 'Drive it Day'.

This Sunday, the East Midland's Group of the CCC is having a meet at Burghley House, and it will be a great chance to see some lovely Citroens, and of course see Burghley House itself.

We have dedicated parking immediately outside the house in the 'Circular Drive', which is going to cost us £4.00 per car, but they are doing a 2 for 1 entry to the house, which saves cash overall! As a note here, to get the 2 for 1 entry to the house, CCC Membership cards will need to be shown, so please bear this in mind if you are not a CCC Member.

Alan expect's to be there from 10:30 am.

Apart from the house itself, there is a sculpture park, and a water park. There is also a fine food fair on that day for anyone wishing to buy something a little out of the ordinary. For more details of Burghley House itself, please see their website here.

So, anyone thinking of coming along - we are in dad's Xantia V6.

An excellent day...

Weather was good, company excellent and some great cars :D I had a spin in a GSA. Gosh was I impressed..... They are seriously good...

Here's a few pictures. Not photographically good as taken with my phone...

Image

Star of the show was this "brand new" DS. It is not a restoration but one built from all new parts... It is stunning..

Image

There was a great turnout of cars..

Amongst the gathered was an LN 652 twin-pot, the GSA I spoke of, a good number of DSs, BXs and XMs, a V6 and 1.9TD Xantia along with mine, a C5 and a C6. Sadly no CXs :(

Al in all, an excellent way of spending a sunny Sunday....

What an excellent lineup 8-) Some real nice looking cars there, Jims Activa and the silver V6 looking stunning!

I love the colour on that XM, very rare and seems to suit the shape well.

Yep, it was a great line-up with a very good range of vehicles. Considering the East Midlands group is relatively new it's doing well!

Thanks for the comments on the V6 - the cleaning paid off I think! 8-)

Indeed a very rare colour - and a lovely one too.

Damn! Missed that one.

Good job really. You wouldn't have wanted my scruffy old Xantia tarnishing the line up.

Never mind! Maybe next time.
